On Thursday, 22nd March, 2012, Renfrewshire Council held the annual Young Achiever’s Award Ceremony at Paisley Town Hall. Several pupils from St Benedict’s were presented with awards by Councillor Cameron. The ceremony was hosted by Robert Naylor of the Council’s Education Department and entertainment was provided in the form of a string quartet of pupils from Paisley Grammar School, a dance troupe from Renfrew High School and a duo of singers from Castlehead High School. – all of whom performed to a very high standard! Renfrewshire’s Got Talent!

The awards presented were as follows:

Healthy Lifestyle Award

Jack Owens, Mia Shepherd, Katie Flannigan

All achieved awards for their individual sporting achievements.

Citizenship Award

Megan McAdam, Savannah McGhee and Alana O’Rourke  - received the award because of their efforts in fundraising for Breast Cancer Awareness. The girls organised the Pink Day in school and cake sales and raised almost £1000.

Kimberley Grady, Kayleigh Grant and Craig Kelly – received awards for their fundraising for the Teenage Cancer Trust. The trio raised around £500.
